Lemonade Success!

Congratulations! The 2/3H Cooking Company successfully produced 92 cups of ice cold, home made lemonade to sell to Year 2 students (and enjoyed drinking what they didn’t sell at the end of the day!). We had a great time. What an organised and productive team! Well done.

Great Exposition Ideas.

Today in writing we argued whether the school day should be one hour longer. There were some great responses.

Claire:
Positive – You can learn more, you can spend more time with your friends.
Negative – You don’t get to watch television, you don’t get to play with your toys.
Questions – Do we get a longer lunch? Do we get a longer recess?

Dane:
Positive – We learn more, see our friends more and play more games.
Negative – Get stressed, miss out on training and get bored.
Questions – Why can’t it be an hour shorter?

Amy:
Positive – We can learn more.
Negative – It is boring, I won’t get to spend as much time with my family.
Questions – Can we have more free time?

Everyone is enjoying the chance to argue their point of view. Well done.

Awsome Writing

Here are some fantastic information reports from our Year Three students.

Connor

Siberian Tiger

It has thin brown stripes, scientists think that their stripes help them camouflage themselves in the forest. They have yellow eyes that help reflect light. Their eyes help them see six times better then humans at night.

They jump with their hind legs.

The Siberian Tigers tail is longer than its body. The Siberian Tigers fur can grow up to 21 inches long. It can run more than fifty miles an hour, 10 miles less than a cheetah.

When the tiger is hunting it crouches down then jumps on its prey. When it kills its prey it pulls it down to the water and eats it.

Dominic

Siberian Tiger

The Siberian Tiger has dark brown stripes  the thinnest stripes of all.

The stripes help make the tigers comouflaged. The tigers eyes are yellow. The tiger’s eyes are six times better at night than humans. Their hind legs are for jumping. Their tails are half the size of their body. The tiger’s fur can get up to 21 inches long.

The Siberian Tiger is a very skillful hunter. When the tiger stops for prey it crouches into the grass. When they get close enough they jump for the prey and then they drag they prey then they eat it.

The Siberian Tiger can run up to 50 miles an hour.

Great writing boys keep it up!

DEAW Week 4

Wow! have a read of these great weekend recounts.

Beth
On the weekend my family and I went to a billy cart race. When we started to go home we saw a rocket billy cart. The adult who was in the rocket cart had to lay down, she just fitted. It was very fun and I created a sand picture. We also went on the Twister, it was fun.

Abigail

I was away on Friday because I went to my caravan park! While we were there we went to the beach for a walk with my dad. The sand was so cold that we had bright red toes!. We were freezing cold. After that we went to get chalk so we could draw with it on the road. We went to the beach every day and I brought a boogie board.

What busy weekends you both had.

Our Plants Have Started to Grow!

It was very exciting today to see that some of our basil plants have begun to sprout. We will continue to care for them every day and watch them grow.
